What a day for a sale!! We'd had warm dry weather leading up to our 3rd Annual Production sale and sale day was calm, sunny and about 68 degrees. We had a HUGE crowd. There was even some tailgating going on in the parking lot before and after the sale. We estimate we fed over 200 people (we ran out of buns!) and also ran out of buyer numbers. A good problem to have. Repeat buyers from our previous sales made up over 60% of our buyers this year, which tells us we're on the right track. A sight-unseen bull customer from last year came all the way from Ohio to be with us in person this year. He went home with 5 heifers to add to his herd. 2 heifer buyers (both repeat customers) opted for our heifer calve out program. They appreciate this service and have come to depend on it.
Bulls & commercial bred heifers sold into Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Ohio and Kentucky. Volume bull buyer was repeat buyer Dan Clawson of Clawson Ranches, Meade, KS with 8 bulls (5 Red Angus and 3 Black Angus). Volume heifer buyers were also repeat buyers, Mr. & Mrs. Gene Murray of Auburn KS. They purchased 23 head from both ranches.
